Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all necessary materials are available for procedures.
• Assist dentists during various treatments including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support.
• Take and develop dental X-ray images using advanced medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners and digital radiography systems while adhering to HIPAA privacy regulations.
• Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix to ensure accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and procedural notes.
• Perform dental instrument processing by sterilizing tools according to infection prevention management protocols and aseptic techniques.
• Monitor vital signs and patient comfort throughout procedures, providing excellent patient care with compassion and professionalism.
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with patient management software and acting as a dental receptionist when needed.
• Follow clinical confidentiality policies diligently while maintaining compliance with healthcare infection prevention standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant within a clinical setting, preferably with exposure to general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, or prosthodontics.
• Proficiency in operating dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other dental imaging tools.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical documentation practices.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Denticon or Dentrix for managing electronic health records efficiently.
• Expertise in infection control procedures including dental sterilization protocols and aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance procedural efficiency.
• Excellent communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to patient management and education.
• Certification in radiography or X-ray technology is highly desirable; ongoing professional development in pediatric dentistry or endodontics is a plus.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
