Dental assistant

Job Overview

Join our dental care team as a Dental Assistant and help patients feel informed, comfortable, and supported throughout their visits. You’ll prepare treatment areas, assist clinicians during procedures, maintain accurate records, and follow infection prevention practices. Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry support in general dentistry and, as needed, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, or oral surgery.
• Prepare and maintain dental equipment, instruments, and treatment rooms; perform dental instrument processing and sterilization using aseptic technique and infection control procedures.
• Support dental x-ray and other medical imaging workflows, including use of a 3D scanner, in line with applicable protocols.
• Record vital signs, update medical records and documentation, and use patient management software or electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
• Assist with dental receptionist tasks and patient management while protecting privacy under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and clinical confidentiality policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience Dental assisting or dental clinic experience, with knowledge of dental and medical terminology, anatomy, and patient care.
• Must be able to handle and be proficient in dental equipment, X-ray procedures, medical imaging, and dental sterilization procedures.
• Understanding of infection prevention management, healthcare infection prevention and control, and aseptic technique.
• Experience with EMR systems, patient management software, Dentrix; familiarity with pediatrics and pediatric dentistry is also an asset.
• Able to maintain accurate medical documentation and records while communicating respectfully with patients and the care team.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
