Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures.
• Assist Dr. Smith chairside during a variety of treatments including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prost, oral surgery and pediatric dentistry.
• Take X-rays using digital sensors and CBCT.
• Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) within Open Dental
• Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort before, during, and after procedures to promote safety and well-being.
• Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions in a clear, friendly manner.
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments.

Requirements

• 3-5 years experience is preferred.
• Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. CEREC experience is a must.
• Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, aseptic technique, infection control, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry.
• Familiarity with dental terminology, X-ray procedures, and medical coding for accurate documentation.
• Experience with EMR specifically Open Dental.
• Ability to perform X-ray imaging safely while adhering to all radiation safety guidelines.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is a plus for working effectively with young patients.

Pay: $24.76 - $29.82 per hour
