Dental Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations within the office while providing exceptional care to our patients. This position requires a blend of clinical and administrative skills, making it essential for the candidate to be well-versed in dental assisting practices and proficient with dental software.

Duties

• Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of patients.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
• Take and develop X-rays as needed, ensuring high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
• Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix software, including updating medical histories and treatment plans.
• Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as a dental receptionist when necessary.
• Monitor vital signs of patients before, during, and after procedures.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care, particularly in pediatric dentistry.
• Support specialized procedures in areas such as prosthodontics and pediatric dentistry.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred; however, recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Familiarity with Dentrix or similar dental software is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of infection control protocols and safety regulations within a dental setting.
• Ability to take X-rays and perform basic dental assisting tasks effectively.
• Strong communication skills with an emphasis on patient interaction and education.
• Experience in pediatrics or pediatric dentistry is a plus but not mandatory.
• Certification in CPR and basic life support is preferred.
