Dental Assistant Requirements.

● Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology

● Orthodontic experience is preferred but not required (must be open to learning)

● Understanding of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality

● Excellent communication skills to educate patients on oral health care practices

● 2-year or more experience preferred

● Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods

● Strong attention to detail

● Cross trained preferred

● Must be well-organized and reliable; background check required

Responsibilities

● Welcome patients to the dental office

● Prepare patients for treatments or checkups, ensuring their comfort

● Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed

● Sterilize instruments according to regulations

● Assist the dentist during treatment appointments

● Execute lab tasks as instructed

● Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions

● Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked

● Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures

● When necessary, assist dentists in the management of medical and dental emergencies

● Making sure medical and dental histories, as well as patient vital signs, are gathered and

recorded

● Maintain dental equipment inventory and order dental supplies

Pay: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour
