Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures.
• Assist dentists chairside during various treatments, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
• Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to safety protocols and radiation safety standards.
• Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment details.
• Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
• Follow strict infection prevention management procedures including dental sterilization protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with patient management software, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing patient flow efficiently.

Skills

• Proficiency in dental assisting techniques with a strong understanding of dental terminology and anatomy knowledge.
• Experience working with EMR systems like Open Dental for documentation and record keeping.
• Knowledge of infection control standards, dental sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection prevention practices.
• Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, dental instruments, and other clinical tools safely and effectively.
• Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working with children in a compassionate manner.
• Excellent patient management skills to provide outstanding patient care from check-in to post-treatment follow-up.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with the dental team and convey information clearly to patients.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 35.0 per week
