Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies
• Assist dentists during various procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with chairside assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry
• Take and develop dental x-rays using dental x-ray equipment and 3D scanners while adhering to radiation safety protocols
• Manage patient information by updating medical records, medical documentation, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for clinical confidentiality policies
• Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and managing patient management software to schedule appointments and follow-ups
• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by processing dental instruments, managing dental equipment, and following infection control standards such as aseptic technique and healthcare infection prevention and control expertise
• Support the dental team with administrative tasks including answering the phone as a dental receptionist, managing medical records, and coordinating patient flow

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting
• Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing patient records and appointments
• Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dentistry
• Familiarity with dental sterilization procedures, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
• Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools effectively
• Strong understanding of general dentistry procedures along with specialized areas like endodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry is preferred
• Excellent communication skills to support patient management and team collaboration

Pay: $20.00 - $31.58 per hour
