Dental Assistant (Radiology Certified)

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Dental Assistant specializing in Radiology to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional chairside assistance, performing dental radiography, and supporting clinical and administrative functions in a busy dental practice. This role offers an opportunity to work in a modern environment utilizing advanced dental technology, including 3D scanners and electronic health records systems. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent knowledge of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and patient care procedures, particularly within pediatric and general dentistry settings.

Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following aseptic techniques to ensure infection control standards.
• Assist the dentist during various procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and safety protocols.
• Operate digital imaging equipment, including 3D scanners and medical imaging devices, to support accurate diagnostics.
• Manage patient records using Open Dental & Carestream.
• Obtain vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments.
• Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort.
• Educate patients on oral health care procedures, post-treatment instructions, and maintain clear communication regarding treatment plans.
• Support the dental receptionist duties as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding relevant to dental procedures.
• Assist with infection control measures and ensure compliance with OSHA standards across the clinic.

Requirements

• Certified Radiology License in accordance with state regulations.
• Proven experience working in a dental environment with proficiency in general dentistry procedures.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security.
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff.
• Excellent chairside assisting skills including four-handed dentistry techniques and vital signs monitoring.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
