Dental Assistant – Periodontics Specialty Practice

We are a growing periodontal and implant specialty practice looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team. If you're passionate about oral surgery, implant dentistry, and delivering an exceptional patient experience, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

• Chair-side assisting during periodontal procedures including scaling & root planing, osseous surgery, and dental implant placement
• Preparing and sterilizing instruments and operatories per infection control protocols
• Taking digital X-rays, panoramic X-rays, and CBCT scans using our in-office CBCT machine
• Taking intraoral scans (experience with Medit or similar a plus)
• Documenting clinical notes and treatment information in Open Dental
• Educating patients on post-operative care and home hygiene instructions in English and Spanish
• Supporting surgical setup and breakdown for sedation cases (oral conscious sedation/nitrous)
• Maintaining inventory and ordering clinical supplies as needed

Qualifications:

• Current California Dental Assistant registration (RDA preferred)
• X-ray certification (required)
• Bilingual English/Spanish required — must be able to communicate fluently with patients and staff in both languages
• Experience operating a CBCT machine for panoramic and CBCT imaging required
• Surgical or specialty assisting experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Open Dental or similar practice management software a plus
• Excellent communication skills and a calm, reassuring chairside manner
• Must be open to cross-training in front desk operations including scheduling, insurance verification, and patient check-in/check-out
• Reliable, punctual, and a true team player

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
