Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies
• Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support with dental instruments and medical imaging tools such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners
• Take accurate dental x-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques to protect patient privacy and ensure clinical confidentiality policies are maintained
• Manage patient records using patient management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, documenting medical history, vital signs, medical documentation, and treatment details precisely
• Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures to promote ongoing oral health and patient care excellence
• Maintain infection control standards by following dental sterilization procedures, handling dental equipment properly, and practicing healthcare infection prevention and control expertise
• Support the dental team with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist when needed, managing medical records efficiently, and ensuring smooth clinic operations

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing patient records effectively
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and clinical procedures including X-ray techniques and oral surgery support
• Demonstrated ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of dental equipment operation including 3D scanners, dental x-ray machines, and other clinical tools
• Commitment to infection prevention management practices with expertise in aseptic technique and healthcare infection control standards
• Excellent communication skills for patient management and collaboration within the dental team
• Ability to adhere strictly to clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical information

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
