Dental Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the dental practice's operations. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and optimal patient comfort.
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following infection control protocols.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and update patient records in the electronic health record system (Epic or Eaglesoft).
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
• Schedule appointments and manage the dental clinic's front desk operations when necessary.
• Support endodontic procedures by preparing materials and assisting the dentist as required.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Requirements

• Knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology is essential.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
• Experience with electronic health record systems such as Epic or Eaglesoft is preferred.
• Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is an advantage.
• Understanding of infection control standards in a healthcare environment.
• Ability to assist in endodontic procedures is desirable.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate medical documentation.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
• Experience as a dental receptionist or managing medical records is a plus.

Pay: $23.94 - $25.28 per hour
