Dental Assistant (Oral Surgery)

About the Role

A premier oral surgery practice is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Surgical Assistant to support surgeons in delivering exceptional clinical care. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced surgical environment and takes pride in providing a refined, “white-glove” patient experience from consultation through recovery.

What You’ll Do

• Support oral surgeons during surgical procedures and throughout pre- and post-operative care
• Prepare patients for consultations and procedures while addressing individual concerns with professionalism and empathy
• Perform sterilization, disinfection, and operatory turnover in compliance with all applicable infection-control standards
• Capture diagnostic imaging (radiographs and CT scans) efficiently and accurately
• Prepare and maintain surgical tray setups and ensure operatories are fully stocked
• Educate patients on pre- and post-operative instructions as directed by the surgeon
• Accurately document clinical notes and treatment details in digital patient charts
• Assist with sedation workflows, including IV supplies, patient histories, vitals, and post-op monitoring
• Escort and assist sedated patients safely following procedures
• Collaborate cross-functionally, supporting front office or inventory tracking needs as required
• Maintain strict adherence to OSHA, HIPAA, and all regulatory best practices

What We’re Looking For

• RDA certification (preferred)
• Prior experience in dental and/or oral surgery settings
• Strong patient service mindset with a calm, reassuring presence
• Willingness to travel between practice locations when needed

Work Environment

This role is based in a clinical surgical setting, working closely with doctors and clinical teams during procedures. Some administrative work is required. Work hours align with practice operating hours and may vary based on patient and office needs.
