Dental Assistant or Hygienist willing to Assist

We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and compassionate Dental Assistant or Dental Hygienist to join our Portable Dental Team. We bring dental care directly into the homes of patients who are unable to travel to a traditional dental office.

Many of our patients are living with Alzheimer’s disease or other cognitive challenges, so patience, understanding, and kindness are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist with a variety of procedures, including examinations, fillings, and extractions.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
• Take dental X-rays as needed.
• Drive the company minivan safely and confidently, using GPS for navigation.
• Demonstrate knowledge of dental materials and their proper use.
• Disinfect and sterilize instruments and equipment according to proper protocols.
• Monitor, organize, and restock dental supplies.
• Assist with ordering supplies and maintaining inventory.
• Use basic technology and computer systems.
• Help with office duties as needed, including entering new patients, creating patient charts, preparing recall cards, filing charts, and other administrative tasks.
• Help prepare equipment, supplies, and materials for the following day's appointments.

Qualifications

• Previous dental assisting experience is required.
• At least one year of dental assisting experience.
• Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures, equipment, and materials.
• Valid driver's license and willingness and ability to drive the company minivan.
• Ability to use GPS and navigate to patients' homes.
• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Basic computer and technology skills.
• Familiarity with inventory management and supply ordering.
• Experience managing patient records is beneficial.
• Experience with dental software such as Curve or Eaglesoft is a plus.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of maintaining patient confidentiality.
• A compassionate, patient, honest, and flexible attitude.
• Willingness to assist with office duties as needed.

Schedule

Monday–Thursday | Starting at 7:30 AM

Our days typically run until approximately 5:00–5:30 PM, depending on the schedule and patient needs. We do our best to schedule the last patient no later than 4:00–4:30 PM, allowing time to return to the office, complete necessary duties, and prepare for the next day.

Please note that there is no set end time, so flexibility is important.
