Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies
• Assist dentists during various procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry by providing chairside support with dental instruments and materials
• Take and develop dental x-rays, including 3D scans when applicable
• Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records using patient management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, and collecting vital signs to monitor patient health status before procedures
• Ensure clinical confidentiality policies are followed when handling medical documentation and medical records, maintaining accuracy and privacy at all times
• Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care, fostering a positive experience through excellent patient care practices
• Maintain clinical cleanliness by processing dental instruments with aseptic technique, managing infection control protocols, and supporting four-handed dentistry to optimize efficiency

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records effectively
• Strong understanding of infection prevention management, including dental sterilization procedures and healthcare infection control expertise
• Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools with precision
• Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry along with proficiency in taking vital signs and assisting with oral surgery procedures
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with dental teams and provide compassionate patient management
• Certification in dental assisting
