Dental Assistant

Job Summary

We are looking for a part-time dental assistant, Monday thru Wednesday all day, and likely Thursday mornings as well. It may also work out if you can work Monday thru Wednesday around 11:30am-5:30pm. There is some flexibility. Your duties are very typical (see below). We have an office with mostly very nice patients. We are looking for someone who is very friendly as well. The average patient is a little on the older side, and they are faithful patients who keep returning to the office. We see one patient at a time, and we do the best we can on each patient every time. I had one dental assistant here for over 17 years, and the last one was here 2 and 1/2 years, so we are hoping to find someone who will stay for a while. I only work with one assistant at a time, so you need to be comfortable being the only assistant.

Responsibilities

• Chairside assistant (suction, hand instruments, help out, etc.)
• Set up the rooms, clean up the rooms, sterilize all the instruments, keep track of supplies and help order them as needed
• Take intraoral digital x-rays
• Take impressions and pour up models
• Make patients feel comfortable and answer their questions to the best of your ability
• Ensure compliance with all infection control protocols during dental sterilization procedures and maintain clinical cleanliness at all times
• Experience
• Prior experience working in a dental office is preferred
• Proficiency with dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting and dental terminology
• Hands-on experience taking dental x-rays
• Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control policies is necessary for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages while keeping medical information confidential

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 18.0 – 30.0 per week
