Dental Assistant

Job Overview

Our office is a relationship-driven, family dental practice with over 30 years serving the community. We are looking for an assistant who cares as much about our patients as we do. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality dental care in a welcoming, comfortable environment.

As a Dental Assistant, you’ll help keep appointments running smoothly while supporting safe, attentive care for patients. You’ll prepare treatment areas, assist the Doctor during procedures, and maintain accurate records. You will also work with the front office to keep the schedule running smoothly.

Duties

• Prepare dental equipment and instruments; follow dental sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and infection control practices.
• Provide chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry during general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery procedures.
• Take dental X-rays and support medical imaging, including use of a 3D scanner, as directed and within applicable requirements.
• Record vital signs, update medical records, and document care in patient management software.
• Support patient management and dental receptionist tasks, including appointment flow and communication with patients.

Skills

• Dental assisting or dental clinic experience; knowledge of dental and medical terminology, anatomy, and patient care.
• Familiarity with EMR (electronic medical record) systems
• Understanding of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), clinical confidentiality policies, and medical documentation.
• Knowledge of dental instrument processing, dental equipment, dental X-ray procedures, and healthcare infection prevention and control.
• Experience with pediatrics or pediatric dentistry is helpful; attention to detail and a calm, respectful approach to patients are essential.

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 per week
