Duties

• Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to infection prevention management protocols
• Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
• Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) with Open Dental - ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with clinical confidentiality policies
• Perform vital signs assessments and document medical history to support comprehensive patient care
• Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and providing pre- and post-treatment instructions
• Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment following aseptic techniques and infection control standards to prevent cross-contamination

Qualifications

• Proven experience in dental clinic settings with knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and procedures
• Proficiency in dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, and dental sterilization procedures
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Open Dental; experience with patient management software is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and infection control policies
• Ability to operate dental x-ray machines safely and accurately; certification in dental radiography preferred
• Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals
• Certification in medical terminology is a plus; ongoing professional development in dental assisting is encouraged

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
