Dental Assistant

Healthy Smiles Family Dentistry is seeking to add a new assistant to our team! We are a small private dental practice in Sanford, ME. We love what we do here at Healthy Smiles, and are searching for the perfect candidate to work along with our small but powerful team. The ideal candidate would have some experience with dental assisting, and any experience with insurance would be highly considered! We are certainly open to providing on the job training to enhance your skills.

What we are looking for:

• State of Maine Radiology License
• Preferably 1-3 years of dental assisting experience
• A great communicator, someone who is forward-thinking and eager to excel in their position.
• Strong time management and attention-to-detail skills.
• Someone who knows how to laugh and have a great time throughout the day! They willingly support their team, and, in return, their team will have their back.
• Comfortable doing administrative tasks.

How we currently operate:

Dental assistants balance typical back-end assisting duties with some "front desk" administrative tasks such as checking patients in and out, calling patients, and some light insurance management, though we do utilize an insurance coordinator to handle claims.

The doctor is also comfortable helping with these tasks, and has been known to answer the phone or check patients in and out when needed. This system, though perhaps unconventional, has worked well for us, and allows our patients to get to know our team very well as they are always greeted by the same familiar faces whether in the waiting room or the operatory.

We feel it allows for a good balance of duties, and has allowed us to maintain our great reputation with our patients.

Office hours:

• Monday: 8:00am to 5:00pm
• Tuesday: 8:00am to 5:00pm
• Wednesday: 8:00am to 5:00pm
• Thursday: 8:00am to 1:00pm

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 per week
