Dental Assistant

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Dental Assistant or new graduate willing to learn, to join our team. A dedicated individual with great patient care. If you are bilingual this is a plus. In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. Your proactive approach will help create a welcoming environment for patients while maintaining efficient clinic operations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting dedicated to excellence in dental health.

Hours are Monday-Thursday 9am-6pm

Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is ready for patient procedures in accordance with dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies
• Assist dentists chairside during various treatments including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing necessary instruments and materials promptly
• Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while adhering to radiation safety protocols
• Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, treatment notes, and medical documentation
• Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions, fostering a positive patient experience and promoting ongoing oral health management
• Maintain clinical confidentiality policies by securely handling sensitive medical records and patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Support the dental team with administrative tasks including patient management software updates, scheduling appointments, and coordinating patient flow as a dental receptionist when needed

Skills

• Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient record keeping and appointment scheduling
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and dental equipment to assist effectively during procedures
• Experience with dental instrument processing, sterilization techniques, aseptic technique, and infection control protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment
• Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while maintaining radiation safety standards
• Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and oral surgery procedures to support diverse patient needs
• Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients of all ages and coordinate seamlessly with the dental team
• Healthcare infection prevention and control expertise combined with knowledge of clinical confidentiality policies to uphold the highest standards of safety and privacy

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
