Dental Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, proficiency in using EMR systems, and the ability to maintain a sterile environment. The Dental Assistant will work closely with both pediatric and general dentistry patients, ensuring their comfort and safety during treatments.

Duties

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
• Take X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
• Record patient medical histories and vital signs accurately.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including medical documentation and coding.
• Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, including prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.
• Educate patients on post-operative care and oral hygiene practices.
• Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft for scheduling appointments and managing patient information.
• Ensure infection control protocols are followed to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.

Requirements

• Read/Write/ Speak English
• Speak Vietnamese
• Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
• Proficiency in EMR systems; familiarity with Eaglesoft is a plus.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques.
• Experience with pediatric dentistry is an advantage; ability to work well with children is essential.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining medical records.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
• Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is preferred but not mandatory.
