Duties

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, implants, and oral surgery.
• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained at all times
• Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans using advanced imaging equipment to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
• Manage patient records efficiently using *Open Dental ensuring HIPAA compliance for confidentiality
• Monitor vital signs and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient assessments and safety protocols
• Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques and/or dental hygiensts to enhance treatment efficiency and comfort
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care while addressing their questions with clear dental terminology
• Manage daily dental office administrative operations using Open Dental, including patient scheduling, treatment coordination, insurance verification, payment posting, and patient communications.
• Maintain accurate patient and insurance records, coordinate treatment plans, monitor outstanding balances, and support efficient front-office workflow and patient experience.

Skills

• Proficiency in dental assisting with experience in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control, and aseptic techniques
• Familiarity with Open Dental
• Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, and other imaging tools effectively
• Strong understanding of general dentistry principles and procedures along with excellent communication skills to coordinate appointments and provide exceptional patient service
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times
• Competence in general dentistry procedures along with specialized areas such as prosthodontics and endodontics

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 24.0 per week
