Responsibilities

• Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and dental tools.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to strict infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
• Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit.
• Maintain clinical cleanliness by following dental sterilization procedures and infection control policies to prevent cross-contamination.
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient management software, and assisting the dental receptionist with patient flow.

Experience

• Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with dental assisting duties including chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, and dental terminology is essential.
• Knowledge of dental equipment operation including X-ray units, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools is advantageous.
• Demonstrated understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices is required.
• Experience with dental x-ray techniques, oral surgery assistance, endodontics procedures, and prosthodontics support will set you apart.
• Ability to handle medical documentation accurately while maintaining strict clinical confidentiality policies is crucial.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team practicing four-handed dentistry are important for success in this role.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
