Duties

• Assist the dentist during various procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management and aseptic techniques
• Take high-quality dental X-rays and operate advanced medical imaging tools such as 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
• Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment details
• Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort during procedures
• Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies
• Support patient management by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and handling administrative duties as a dental receptionist when needed

Experience

• Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a general or pediatric dentistry setting with familiarity in dental terminology and clinical procedures
• Hands-on knowledge of dental sterilization procedures, infection control standards, and dental equipment maintenance
• Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing medical records and patient data
• Skilled in taking dental X-rays, including digital radiography and 3D imaging technologies
• Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatrics to assist effectively during treatments
• Ability to perform dental instrument processing efficiently while adhering to healthcare infection prevention protocols
• Excellent communication skills to interact compassionately with pediatric patients and their families while ensuring a positive experience
