Duties

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth clinical flow.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols.
• Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans, adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to maintain clinical confidentiality policies.
• Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes.
• Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and managing patient comfort throughout visits.
• Support front desk operations by assisting the dental receptionist with appointment scheduling and patient management software tasks.
• Follow all healthcare infection prevention and control standards to uphold the highest levels of safety for patients and staff.

Skills

• Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient medical documentation and record keeping.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment, and medical imaging techniques including X-ray procedures.
• Experience in chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize clinical efficiency.
• Familiarity with infection control practices, dental sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention standards.
• Ability to operate dental instruments and equipment confidently while maintaining strict adherence to clinical confidentiality policies.
• Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills for patient management, explaining treatment plans clearly while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
