We are seeking an organized, proactive, and experienced Dental Assistant to join our collaborative team of general dentists and specialists. This position offers room to grow into a Lead Dental Assistant role as you demonstrate clinical proficiency, initiative, and leadership skills, with opportunities for increased responsibilities and compensation.

Our team works with the latest dental technology, including TRIOS and iTero digital scanners, CBCT imaging technology, and a SprintRay 3D printer.

About the Role

Our Dental Assistant will provide hands-on chairside support, help keep daily clinical operations running smoothly, and contribute to a welcoming, organized environment for patients and teammates.

Dental assisting experience and competency in assisting with general dentistry procedures are required. Experience assisting with specialty procedures is preferred, but we are happy to train the right candidate.

This role also includes supporting the Office Manager and front desk when no clinical duties are present. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, works well with others, and is eager to grow with the practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist dentists chairside during general dentistry and specialty procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for scheduled procedures.
• Help patients feel comfortable, informed, and supported throughout their visits.
• Take dental X-rays and acquire CBCT images as directed by the treating dentist, following applicable training requirements and radiation-safety protocols.
• Capture digital scans using TRIOS and iTero scanners and support digital workflows, including SprintRay 3D printing, with training provided as needed.
• Complete accurate dental charting and maintain clinical documentation in Dentrix Ascend as directed by the treating dentist.
• Work with the dentists, Office Manager, and front desk to support efficient clinical workflow.
• Perform instrument sterilization and operatory turnover in accordance with infection-control protocols.
• Help monitor clinical inventory, organize supplies, and coordinate ordering.
• Support communication of patient care instructions as directed by the treating dentist.
• Assist the Office Manager and front desk with administrative tasks and patient coordination when no clinical duties are present.

Qualifications

• Previous dental assisting experience is required.
• Knowledge and demonstrated competency in assisting with general dentistry procedures are required.
• Experience taking dental X-rays and familiarity with radiation-safety practices.
• Experience assisting with specialty procedures is preferred; training will be provided.
• Experience with Dentrix Ascend is preferred, but not required; training will be available.
• Familiarity with digital scanners, CBCT imaging, and dental 3D printing is a plus; training will be available.
• Completion of Illinois-approved coronal polishing training is preferred, but not required. We will offer a path to certification for candidates who have not yet completed this training.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• A proactive approach to anticipating the needs of patients, providers, and teammates.
• Strong communication skills and a patient-focused attitude.
• Willingness to help across clinical and front-office functions as needed.
• Interest in developing new skills and taking on additional responsibilities over time.
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities are preferred, but not required.
