Chairside Dental Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking to add an energetic Certified Chairside Dental Assistant to our team. Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection prevention management protocols.
• Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other imaging devices while adhering to safety standards and clinical confidentiality policies.
• Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar patient management software to document treatment details accurately.
• Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
• Maintain clinical cleanliness by processing dental instruments, sterilizing equipment, and following infection control procedures aligned with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise.
• Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as patient management, scheduling appointments, and coordinating with the dental receptionist to optimize clinic flow.
• Help our hygiene schedule flow efficiently by assisting with room turnovers, capturing x-rays, processing instruments, and room set up.
• Demonstrate proficiency in dental terminology and anatomy knowledge to assist effectively during complex procedures like oral surgery or endodontics.
• Uphold all clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and medical records.

Experience

• Prior experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, and aseptic techniques is essential.
• Experience assisting with pediatric dentistry procedures is a plus.
• Strong understanding of dental equipment operation including X-ray units, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools is important.
• Ability to communicate effectively using dental terminology and medical documentation standards is necessary.
• Certification in radiography or X-ray technology is neccesary.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 40.0 per week
