Certified Dental Assistant/DAII

We are looking for a competent dental assistant with at least 2 years experience who will fit in to our dental family. We pride ourselves on the relationships we have built as a team and with our patients, and we expect to welcome you into that family. You’ll ensure excellent customer service and lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the dentist’s shoulders. Our ideal candidate should be well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and be able to make office procedures as smooth as possible.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients in the dental office
• Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
• Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed
• Sterilize instruments according to regulations
• Assist the dentists with a multitude of procedures including but not limited to implant restorations, crown and bridge, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, endodontics, pediatric dentistry, frenectomies, airway dentistry, laser dentistry, and oral surgery. We are a general dentist office, but do preform many specialty procedures
• Undertake lab tasks as instructed
• Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
• Keep the dental rooms clean and well-stocked
• Assist with ordering supplies
• Schedule appointments
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures as needed
• Assist with any other duties assigned to you by our office manager or one of the doctors

Skills

• Proven experience as dental assistant of a minimum of 2 years
• Experience with Dentrix is a plus
• Ability to work in a fast pace, fee-for-service office
• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
• Understanding of health & safety regulations
• Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus
• Good computer skills
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Attention to detail
• Well-organized and reliable
• Any and all certificates pertaining to your duties including dental assisting certificate, radiology certificate, etc.
• Additional certification or training is an asset, especially with Nitrous

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
