Associate General Dentist – High-Volume Practice

Job Summary

Duties

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental histories, to develop personalized treatment plans.
• Perform general dentistry procedures such as dental examinations, cleanings, fillings, crowns, bridges, and prosthodontics.
• Carry out complex treatments including dental implants, oral surgery, root canal therapy (endodontics), orthodontics, and pediatric dentistry when applicable.
• Utilize dental terminology accurately to communicate diagnoses and treatment options clearly to patients.
• Operate and interpret medical imaging devices to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and comply with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations.
• Document all patient interactions thoroughly in electronic health records using platforms like Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix.
• Assist in dental fabrication processes and perform extractions or other surgical procedures as needed.
• Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, answer questions, and promote oral health education.
• Adhere to all legal requirements related to medical documentation, medical records management, and confidentiality standards.

Experience

• Proven experience working in a high-volume dental practice or clinic setting with a focus on general dentistry.
• Demonstrated proficiency with dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
• Experience performing a variety of dental procedures including extractions, root canals, prosthodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with healthcare diagnosis processes and client communication skills to ensure patient comfort and understanding.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
