Associate Dentist

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an Associate Dentist to provide general dentistry in Washington, Iowa. The Associate Dentist will work closely with the office manager, hygienist, and dental assistant to ensure comprehensive dental care while helping support the practice through a new stage.

This is an opportunity for a Dentist who enjoys having an active role in the growth of a practice. You'll have the opportunity to build relationships with new and existing patients, earn their trust, and become a Dentist they and their families want to continue seeing for years to come.

The ideal Associate Dentist will be experienced in a wide array of non-specialty dental procedures and enjoy working with a diverse patient base. We are seeking an Associate Dentist who is self-motivated and has a proven track record of working as the sole dentist at a practice location.

As the practice grows, we want our team to grow with it. The Associate Dentist will have an opportunity to contribute to team development, help strengthen clinical and operational expectations, and work alongside the office manager and other team members to build a practice everyone can be proud of.

Core Activities of the Role

Providing a wide array of general dentistry procedures including:

• Routine exams and cleaning
• Imaging and visual health screening
• Patient education and creation of treatment plans
• Periodontal care

Routine restorative dental procedures including:

• Dental fillings and crowns

Extensive dental procedures

• Non-impacted tooth extraction, root canal treatment, bridge/denture fittings
• Experience with implants

Cosmetic procedures

• Clear aligners, teeth whitening, and clear aligners

Assisting the office manager in leading team expectations and developing key metrics

Building relationships with patients on their goals through trust and quality care-focused communication

Working collaboratively with dental hygienists, dental assistants, admin, and other team members.

Maintaining accurate, timely clinical documentation within XL Dent

Following all state, federal, local, and other governing body regulations

Other duties as assigned

Schedule

● Tuesday: 7:45 AM – 12:30 PM; 1:30 PM – 5:00 PM

● Wednesday: 7:45 AM – 12:30 PM; 1:30 PM – 5:00 PM

● Friday: 7:45 AM – 12:30 PM; 1:30 PM – 5:00 PM

● One-hour lunch each scheduled day

● Office is currently closed Mondays and Thursdays

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is a base percentage of production by the Dentist

You Will Need:

● Certifications: CPR Certification

● Licenses: Unrestricted license to practice dentistry in Iowa

● Education: Doctor of Dental Surgery from an accredited dental school and all required continuing education credits

● Years of experience: 3+ years

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, standing or sitting over an operatory, and working on a computer.

Must be able to push, pull, lift, lower, or other movements at 25 – 50 pounds at rare times with or without assistance.

Must be able to push, pull, lift, lower, or other movements at 10 – 25 pounds at semi-often times.

Must be able to push, pull, lift, lower, or other movements at 0 – 10 pounds frequently.

Environmental Requirements: Moderate levels of sound, including dental equipment; consistent movement between patients; temperature-controlled environment; and consistent work with the general public. Will be around patients needing medical care, bodily fluids, medication, and other substances exposed within a dental practice.
