Duties

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental history reviews, oral examinations, and diagnostic imaging using advanced tools such as digital X-rays and intraoral cameras.
• Diagnose dental issues accurately by applying comprehensive knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and healthcare diagnosis principles.
• Develop personalized treatment plans that include procedures such as dental restorations, extractions, orthodontics, oral surgery, and dental implants.
• Perform clinical procedures with precision and efficiency, ensuring aseptic techniques and infection control protocols are strictly followed to maintain a safe environment.
• Utilize practice management software like Open Dental, Eaglesoft, Dentrix to document medical records accurately, manage patient data securely in compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations.
• Communicate effectively with patients to explain diagnoses, treatment options, post-operative care instructions, and answer any questions to foster trust and understanding.
• Collaborate with the dental team on four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow and patient comfort during procedures.
• Stay current on industry best practices by engaging in ongoing education related to pediatric dentistry, dental fabrication techniques, medical imaging advancements, and new procedural protocols.

Qualifications

• Valid Oregon state licensure as a Dentist with current credentials to practice.
• Proven experience in general dentistry with familiarity in oral surgery, prosthodontics, orthodontics, and implantology preferred.
• Proficiency in using dental practice management software such as Open Dental, Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes.
• Strong knowledge of dental/medical terminology related to healthcare diagnosis and medical documentation standards.
• Demonstrated expertise in dental diagnosis through comprehensive client communication skills and detailed patient assessments.
• Commitment to infection control standards including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures aligned with OSHA guidelines.
• Excellent understanding of HIPAA regulations along with state healthcare laws governing medical records management.
• Ability to perform complex procedures such as dental extractions, implant placements or oral surgeries confidently.
• Knowledge of anatomy relevant to oral structures combined with skills in dental imaging interpretation for accurate diagnosis.
