Endodontist Salary in 2026: What Endodontists Earn

Endodontist income is the hardest dental specialty figure to source honestly. The Bureau of Labor Statistics has no endodontics occupation; it groups endodontists with periodontists, pediatric dentists and other specialists as "Dentists, All Other Specialists" (SOC 29-1029), a category whose May 2025 median of $224,990 cannot be attributed to endodontics alone. The only survey that measures endodontists separately is the American Dental Association's Health Policy Institute Survey of Dental Practice — and its most recent published median for endodontists in private practice is $279,040, for 2021. HPI has printed no endodontist figure for 2022 through 2025 because too few endodontists responded (20 in the 2026 survey); it suppresses cells below its threshold rather than publish an unreliable number.

So the headline figure on this page is four years old, and the page says so rather than substitute a modeled estimate. What the published series shows is a median that ran $318,000 in 2018, $298,510 in 2019, $291,750 in 2020 and $279,040 in 2021 — consistently above the specialist-wide medians HPI reports for the same years — with the 2020 figure affected by the pandemic year. None of these are inflation-adjusted, and they are net income for private-practice dentists, not employed salaries.

For current context, HPI's 2025 median for specialist practice owners of every kind is $259,550, against $185,010 for general practitioners; the grouped BLS figure of $224,990 is the newer official floor.
